About the school
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College is a remote Aboriginal school located in Wadeye 400 km South West of Darwin. The Kardu Diminin people are the traditional owners of the Wadeye country. There are over 20 clans from the surrounding Thamarrurr region residing in Wadeye and attending the school. The school operates a Family as First Teachers (FaFT) program, preschool, primary and secondary school. The majority of people in Wadeye speak Murrinhpatha as a first language. The school has been delivering bilingual education in Murrinhpatha and English for over 40 years.
About the role
We are seeking a teacher for our Visual Arts program to teach art to students from transition to year 9. The position is suitable for either a secondary trained art teacher or a primary teacher with a strong background in art.
An interest in working in remote Aboriginal education and a willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school is important.
