FSG is a leading employee-owned geotechnical consulting practice with over 90 staff within Australia working across a broad range of markets, including infrastructure, mining, energy, transportation, land development, property & buildings, utilities, and industrial developments. We work in urban, rural and remote locations in onshore, near-shore / marine and offshore environments. Our clients include principal contractors, consultants, specialist geotechnical contractors, mining and energy companies, private owners/developers and government agencies, insurers and legal firms.

About the Role
We have opportunities for an experienced CAD Draftsperson / GIS Analyst to join our growing operation. The role will include the following:
- working closely with our team across Australia to fit the needs of our internal and external clients in providing engineering design and drafting services.
- preparing key plans, site plans, and site design drawings including geotechnical/geological cross-sections, profiles, construction drawings, as-built drawings, tender documents, figures, sketches, and charts for presentation in reports and proposals.
- performing various calculations including volume calculations and provide technical assistance to the project design teams.
- setup and use of different spatial datasets in GIS applications.
- being responsible for product quality control with adherence to company standards and procedures; and
- effectively manage numerous project tasks at the same time, can willingly delegate and follow-up.
- located in either our Perth or Melbourne office

Skills and experience
The role would best suit someone with the following attributes & experience:
- A technical diploma or degree with a minimum of 5-10 years related work experience using AutoCAD/GIS.
- Minimum 5 years of professional drafting experience.
- Fully conversant in the use of AutoCAD, ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Knowledge of gINT software as well as MicroStation is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and detail oriented.
- Good problem solver with an ability to identify alternative solutions.
- Strong sense of and commitment to CAD and GIS standards and procedures.
- Ability to prioritise and respond to the needs of several projects at once.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Team player and ability to interact successfully with people in a range of industry positions and roles.
