About the role

Due to business growth and continued success across our organisation, an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Blast Crew Labourer to join our team. These roles are permanent positions on a 2:1 roster FIFO ex Perth at Sunrise Dam Mine, located in the Goldfields.

Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Drill & Blast team to achieve objectives which enable shots to be planned, loaded and fired efficiently and effectively. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Checking all plant and machinery is in good condition prior to use;
  • Ensuring that the correct delineation of blast patterns is in place as per site requirements;
  • Manage traffic on and off patterns;
  • Follow loading instructions as directed by the shotfirer;
  • Ensure that the QA/QC is adhered to and that all loading parameters are met;
  • Stemming of all production blast holes to contain blasting agent;
  • Backfill of holes to drill design;
  • Ensuring up to date maps are used for the days loading of holes; and
  • Adhering to all site procedures and policies.

 To be considered for these positions you will have;

  • Experience as a blast crew member in a mining environment, with the ability to work FIFO;
  • Experience adhering to strict safety standards and protocols at all times;
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand maps and plans;
  • Current Drivers Licence, HR drivers license desirable;
  • A National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one;
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol tests;
  • Current Dangerous Goods Security Clearance; and
  • First Aid Certificate

Applicants may be required to take part in pre-employment testing including drug and alcohol and physical agility.
