Form of workGalt Mining Solutions, a growing multi-discipline mining consultancy is seeking core processing technicians at the Galt Discovery Centre in West Leederville.
Utilising BoxScan automated multi-sensor core scanners, this role is suited to a self-starting individual who is methodical and values ongoing training and development.
Tasks & Responsibilities- Operation of software and hardware
- Cutting, sampling and sample data processing
- Minor maintenance as required
- Other core processing as required
- Hold valid working rights in Australia
- The ability to work 8-12 hour shifts on a consistent basis, including night shift
- The ability to lift 20kg core trays (occasionally)
- Previous experience in core processing and/or current studies in geology or a related discipline (highly regarded)
- Intermediate knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and an interest in technology
- Knowledge of sampling systems, including QAQC procedures
- Self-sufficiency and a solution-based approach to problem-solving
- Their own reliable transportation to West Leederville (parking provided)
- Punctual, reliable and be committed to working casual shifts as rostered
- The ability to pass a medical including a drug and alcohol screen
