About the role
The role of Driver / Operator is the front line of our business dealing with customers on a regular basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operation of HR trucks and associated plant for collection of a variety of waste and recycling bins, liquid waste and other equipment in a timely and professional manner, in accordance with company and industry standards
- Ensure a detailed daily clean of the plant at the end of a shift
- Perform basic maintenance and operate any other relevant plant and equipment whilst adhering to WH&S regulations
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Complete daily vehicle and equipment pre-start checks and ensure the safe operation of equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Complete all necessary administration associated with the role
Skills and Experience
- Current HR driver's licence and forklift license
- Waste management experience is preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively unsupervised
- Competent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
- Must be reasonably fit and able to climb in and out of the truck multiple times per day
VTG Waste & Recycling operate 7 days a week. As such, some weekend and public holiday work may be required.
