You will be working for a private hospital which is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. The hospital provides care to approximately 600 women per year. The unit has 4 birthing suites; 20 antenatal/postnatal rooms; 6 bed Special Care Nursery; and a 4 bed Paediatric Unit. The hospital has 150 beds and provides a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.
Your main duties
As a Registered Midwife, you will be providing care and support to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Your main duties will span across prenatal care, labour and delivery, post-partum care, health promotion and education, and working in close collaboration with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians, paediatricians, and nurses.
The location
You will be living in a city based in the Northern Territory which has a population of approximately 147,255. People love it here for it's close proximity to Southwest Asia, the amazing food and waterways, and fantastic way of life. It's also a gateway to massive Kakadu National Park. Its popular waterfront area has several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. Also near the water is the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art, plus a pearling lugger and other seafaring vessels.
To be eligible for this position, you must have the following:
- Dual registered AHPRA registration as a RN/RM - no restrictions
- Highly developed clinical skills in maternity services: antenatal, birth suite, and/or postnatal care
- Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain)
- National Crime Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Up-to-date vaccinations including COVID and Flu
