Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) is one of the largest providers of Fly-In-Fly Out charter services in Western Australia and has considerable experience operating both Charter and Regular Public Transport (RPT) services to small and remote communities, allowing our guests to experience Virgin Australia's award-winning product and services across the regional network.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Operations Delivery, the Duty Operations Manager (VARA) will be responsible for the overall management and effectiveness of Operations Delivery to support Commercial objectives and Operational requirements in planning and scheduling of aircraft and crew utilisation in consultation with key business stakeholders.
- Monitor and review service improvement and cost management potential through 'Day of Operations' planning.
- Manage and coordinate all network & ground operational activities to ensure appropriate regulatory compliance.
- Performance management including appraisal and discipline development and counselling of direct reports
- Liaise with Engineering & Scheduling to coordinate aircraft allocation & availability
- Ensure regulatory compliance with regulatory authorities including CASA & WH&S
- Assist with the development of Operations policies, and procedures (Network & Ground), including amendments to the respective manuals.
- Act as delegate of the Head of Operations Delivery (as required).
What we are looking for:
We are looking for somebody who has excellent attention to detail, outstanding communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. You'll have deadlines to meet so working autonomously with high levels of drive and initiative is critical.
- Working knowledge of operational and crew management systems.
- Cross Functional knowledge of the industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly developed problem-solving ability.
- Solid experience within an Operations Control Centre environment.
- Proven track record within a high-pressure operational environment.
- Tertiary qualification in airline operation management.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skill in a B2B environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities at once.
