Laverton Community Education Centre (LCEC) is a Learn Local RTO in the western suburbs of Melbourne. LCEC delivers EAL training under its SEE, AMEP and ACFE contracts. We also deliver accredited vocational qualifications in Aged Care, Early Childhood Education and Care, Education Support, and Work Education.
About the role
We are seeking a qualified EAL teacher to teach 20-25 hours per week. The position is for the remainder of 2024 with possibility of extension in 2025
As an EAL Teacher in the SEE and AMEP programs at LCEC, you will deliver and assess Victoria EAL Framework qualifications and undertake periodic assessments and reporting on student progress using the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).

Skills and experience
The successful applicant will have demonstrated successful experience in:
- Teaching and assessing English as an Additional (EAL) Framework qualifications
- Applying the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in initial and progressive assessments
- Meeting RTO requirements in assessing and reporting EAL assessments
- Using adult learning principles in an EAL context
- Creating and/or adapting engaging lessons in response to EAL students' needs
- Managing administrative duties involved in delivering class lessons, assessments and daily attendance reporting
