The HR team in the Asia Pacific region is a high performing and collaborative team made up of HR generalists, payroll, recruitment, learning & development, and D&I specialists.

The Role
This role will support the Australia Early Careers (EC) recruitment and development programs. All members of the Recruitment team are involved across elements of the recruitment and development cycles however this role will have specific responsibilities, for example supporting to build the EC strategy, program management and delivery, as well as the transformation and development of EC programs.
You will provide support across our law graduate and summer clerk programs, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders who support us with our programs. A key part of your role will be identifying areas for improvement and innovation, to ensure we deliver best-in-class training and development programs for our EC populations and ways to support the Firm's strategic growth objectives from the ground up.
You will operate in the undergraduate markets, building strong relationships with universities and careers services who specialise in student recruitment. The legal landscape is continually evolving and therefore innovative thinking and trialling new ideas to differentiate the Firm will be key to hiring for future needs. Additionally, diversity and social justice must be at the forefront of our thinking when designing outreach.
This role will support programs across the following Australia offices (Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth Sydney), as well as seek opportunities to collaborate with global and/or regional HR colleagues who have responsibility for EC recruitment and program delivery.
The role reports to the Recruitment Manager APAC, is supported by the Global Recruitment Team, and works closely with HRBPs, L&D and other key stakeholders from the business.
Key Responsibilities and Objectives
Firm Brand and Market Awareness
- In conjunction with global EC teams, work with the local HR team to create market leading EC programs to help position Clyde & Co as an employer of choice and appeal to next generation lawyers/law students.
- Build relationships with undergraduate career services, including management and co-ordination of university relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with a pipeline of quality undergraduate law students on campus who may be identified as future talent.
- Build relationships with key law school representatives and contacts who can initiate brand awareness and support the attraction of high potential future law graduates.
- In conjunction with the Recruitment Manager, APAC manage and attend attraction initiatives and events.
- Internal promotion of the EC programs to Partners and Senior Lawyers, Associates and Graduates with a view to encouraging participation in events, on campus, virtually and internally.
- Responsible for the assessment and selection process for the Summer Clerkship and Law Graduate Programs, and Insight Days.
- Ensure selection processes are fit for purpose, inclusive and commercially focused.
- Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement to ensure the Firm's EC recruitment strategies and programs appeal to and attract a diverse range of the highest calibre students.
- Manage and coordinate smooth recruitment workflows via our Applicant Tracking System through all stages of selection.
- Act as a key contact for our graduates and summer clerks, providing program related support.
- Direct HR and ER related queries to the respective HRBPs for resolution or escalation.
- Deliver and project manage the rollout of all EC programs including induction, seat rotations and collating feedback from regular check-in conversations with graduates, clerks and supervisors to understand key themes and issues raised around the learning experience.
- Identify skills gaps and new training requirements and use this to inform selection processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Advisor to Partners and internal stakeholders in collaboration with HRBPs to determine EC hiring needs.
- Collaborate with Global Early Careers team, D&I, and Inclusion Networks, Pro-bono and Social Impact teamBD and former EC program employees to form key support relationships and capitalise on internal resources.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including Young Lawyers Associations and Young insurance professional networks, D&I networks, universities, schools, talent providers, law societies, and early career professionals from competitor law firms and client organisations.
- Foster and promote a deep understanding of the Firm's strategic focus, sectors and core practice areas, values, and key selling points to professionally represent Clyde & Co throughout EC recruitment cycles.
- Capture and maintain a live record of key information for EC populations including projected graduation dates, admission dates, PLT costs, academic records, and collect supporting documentation in line with data privacy statutory legislation.
- Work with the Recruitment Manager APAC to estimate and track EC costs from a budgeting and forecasting perspective.
- Maintain supplier and vendor relationships, and annual subscriptions against ROI each year.
- Work with the Recruitment Manager and Global EC team on various change management, process improvement, annual review and CR&I projects within the Firm.
- Collaborate and share knowledge and key learnings with other offices in the region to present a consistent EVP, streamline processes, and develop consistent EC materials.
- Showcase and profile success stories to encourage Partner/ Senior Lawyer involvement in EC recruitment and program delivery and use for promotional purposes.
- Work with D&I regarding attraction, selection and program management.
- Previous Early Careers or bulk recruitment experience at Advisor level.
- Management of assessment centres will be highly regarded.
- Confident and personable, with the credibility to act as a strong brand ambassador for the firm.
