Vacvator is a privately owned Australian manufacturer of hydro-vacuum excavation trucks, dry vacuum and jetting equipment. As industry leaders we are rapidly expanding and currently have an opportunity for a fulltimeDesign Engineer.
This position is ideal for both recent graduates and early-career professionals passionate about mechanical design in an innovative environment. You'll have the opportunity to directly contribute to the design and development of vacuum excavation, dust suppression, and high flow pipe jetting equipment.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Design and develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings for new products and enhancements to existing ones, focusing on usability and innovation.
- Utilise industry-leading software tools like Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to create workshop-ready designs.
- Engage in collaborative project work, transforming initial concepts into engineered solutions with a team of dedicated professionals.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or relevant discipline.
- Proficient in 3D modelling and drafting, particularly with Autodesk software products.
- Creative and effective in visualising and executing complex designs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Dynamic problem solver with a keen eye for detail and practical functionality.
