The Role
TasTAFE is seeking qualified Teachers to join their dedicated and committed team of Early Childhood Educators at the Clarence Campus (South).

As part of the Early Childhood Education and Care team at TasTAFE, you will have the opportunity to be part of a targeted professional development program to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge. You will have a broad range of teaching responsibilities, both face-to-face and online as needed, and with in-service responsibilities, travelling to students to provide mentoring, training, and assessment in real life Early Childhood environments. Your duties will cover both Certificate III and Diploma courses in Early Childhood Education and Care.

To be successful in this role you will need to be:

- Willing to learn new skills/knowledge on an ongoing basis;
- Have good teamwork and communication skills;
- Be digitally literate;
- Able to work autonomously;
- Base practice upon inclusion and diversity principles;
- Have sound knowledge of play theory, child development and current issues in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Strong industry connections would be an advantage.
Essential Requirements
- Hold a formal qualification in Childhood Education
- If you’re successful, you’ll need to provide a current registration to work with vulnerable people in Tasmania before you start the role.
- You must have a current Tasmanian Driver’s Licence
The following requirements as detailed in the Australian Skills Quality Authority Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 are essential to be considered for this role.
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor OR TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment + Two Gap Units OR A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
OR
The equivalent of the above – refer to the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
- Specialist Vocational Education and Training registration granted by the Teachers Registration Board (Tasmania) in accordance with the provisions of the Teachers Registration Act 2000. This requirement only applies to teachers who will be working in Department of Education schools delivering VET in Schools programs.
