The Scots School Preschool is a double unit community-based preschool, providing student centred contemporary learning through the Early Years Learning Framework and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years program. Our Preschool gives children space and opportunity to learn and explore – through free play, directed activities and during interactions with other children and adults.
Early Childhood Educator - Higher Learning Support Needs (HLSN) – commencing May 2024
Our Preschool is an important part of The Scots School Albury Junior School and provides positive links for students as they transition into school. A Scots Early Childhood Educator supports the teacher and preschool students in their learning. Experience in working with 3 - 5year olds and previous experience providing Higher Learning Support Needs (HLSN) will be an advantage. Qualifications - Qualifications in Early Childhood | as recognised by ACECQA.
This position is initially 2 days per week.
About the RoleThe Scots School Albury Preschool Early Childhood Educator works in a team which provide high quality Early Childhood Education and Care to children. This role will support the youngest of our students in their learning, develop relationships which support families and provide ongoing support and assistance to the Director of Preschool and Preschool Teacher(s). This role also includes providing HLSN - Higher Learning Support Needs to our students.
This role is based in the Preschool.
About the Applicant
The successful applicant will have:
- Qualifications in Early Childhood | as recognised by ACECQA
- Completed approved Child Protection training (‘Identify and respond to young children at risk of harm’)
- Complete the current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
- Regularly attend professional learning outlining Child Protection requirements of a school employee in NSW.
- Maintain compliance with WHS and any other related legislation.
- First Aid Certificate Approved Qualification
- Asthma Management Approved Qualification
- Anaphylaxis Management Approved Qualification.
Desirable Criteria
- Qualifications in International Baccalaureate (IB) | Previous Experience delivering Primary Years Program (PYP)
- experience in HLSN
