About the Centre/Service Progress Kinder is a highly regarded sessional kinder that has been operating in Ascot Vale for over 75 years. Educators work closely with families, including the committee of management, to ensure ongoing quality improvement across the service. In 2022 our service was rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard. Progress offers welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces, a well-resourced setting and a focus on natural resources and sustainability. Our programs are child-centred and focus on supporting children to develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. We are a small, friendly and supportive team, who are committed to excellence in education and creating positive learning environments for children. Work Days of the Role Mon, Tue, Wed
Hours of Work of the Role 19.5 hours per week
- Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement a play-based and developmentally appropriate program, that fosters the development of curiosity and a love of learning.
- Assist in developing, recording and maintaining, in partnership with the Early Childhood teacher, specific records of individual children.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that aligns with the service philosophy and values.
- Work collaboratively with the team to foster children’s development through purposeful, intentional teaching practices.
- Be actively involved in supporting the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the service.
- Committed to continuous learning, critical reflection and ongoing quality improvement
- Committed to working collaboratively with team members to build high quality programs
- Able to build warm, engaging and professional working relationships with families
- Proven experience in Early Childhood education preferred
- A sound understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and passion for making a meaningful contribution
- A strong understanding of the Child Safe Standards
