Shaping Outcomes is currently recruiting for an Early Childhood Teacher in the Gold Coast region.

The position will be available to start from 15th April 2024, it is a part time role with the opportunity to build to full time and comes with amazing benefits and working conditions.

• Demonstrate how you have helped develop the abilities of children with disabilities?
• Show evidence of how you have supported and strengthened family participation in a child's development?
• Give an example of how you would optimise community inclusion for children with disabilities?
• Explain how you will develop your own capabilities?
• Describe your understanding of Transdisciplinary Intervention supports and why this is considered best practice?

ABOUT THE ROLE

Key responsibilities of the role include providing Early Childhood intervention services and therapies to infants and young children who have developmental delays or disabilities. Dedication to building the capacity of their families, carers and communities across our region, to promote the child's development and to facilitate successful inclusion across the child's natural environments.

Willingness to engage with the “Team around the child” approach, collaborating and sharing strategies with other Therapist providers and families to maximise outcomes and build capacity.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

• Genuine desire to provide the best quality care for people with disabilities
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with participants and their families
• Initiative and drive to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues
• Driver's license and access to a reliable/registered and insured vehicle
• QLD Blue Card 
• NDIS Worker Screening Check - or willingness to apply 
• Current First Aid Certificate (preferred)
• Identified experience in chosen profession

COMPETENCIES

These include but are not limited to competency in Early Childhood development, neurological/physiological diversity, family centred practice, social and cultural diversity, home visiting observing, analysing, reporting, consulting, coaching, mentoring, teamwork, individual intervention, group work, family work, advocacy, mediation and ongoing reflective practice.

THE ROLE INCLUDES:

• Identify, track and promote the child’s development
• Build a strong team of supports around the child and family
• Provide information, service assistance and guidance
• Advocate for inclusive practices within the child’s community
• Promote emotional well-being around the family as required.

QUALIFICATIONS —ESSENTIAL

• Minimum Degree qualification in Early Childhood Teacher (minimum 3 yrs experience preferred)
• Knowledge of early intervention strategies and practices as related to evidence based research in the field, assessment/supports relating to Early Childhood interventions in Early Childhood care, child development and brain-based learning research; strong leadership skills, good listening skills, methods of observing, evaluating and recording child behaviour and development; record keeping and report preparation techniques; effective oral and written communication skills, principles and practices of training and providing work direction to others and operation of a variety of office equipment including computers and appropriate software.
