About our Centre
Gingerbread House Occasional Care Centre is managed by Northern Rivers Children’s Services (NRCS). We are a proud community based, not for profit organisation that advocates for and provides services for children. The centre is based close to the Lismore Base Hospital and has been freshly renovated. The centre has the capacity to care for 39 children on a permanent and/or casual basis.
Position Summary
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you are expected to be an active team member of a team which provides high quality Early Childhood education and care to children.
This includes:
- Developing strong relationships with children at the service
- Developing strong relationships that support and partner with families
- Implementing the policies and associated procedures of the service
- Working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the service’s operations.
Hours of work
Full-time - 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

General responsibilities
- Helping to lead, guide, and support a team which provides high quality Early Childhood education and care
- Work in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, The National Quality Standards, and the Child Safe Standards
- Work in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Early Childhood Australia
- Implement the services Philosophy in undertaking all duties
- Work in accordance with the policies and associated procedures of the service
- Facilitating the implementation of contemporary research-based practices at the service
- Providing ongoing support and assistance to other staff in all areas of service operation; and
- Providing ongoing support and assistance to the Director.

Skills and Attributes

- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of EYLF and NQS and a commitment to excellence in Early Childhood to provide high quality care and education.
- Develop and deliver quality education programs and daily routines that meet the needs and interests of each individual child.
- Sound understanding of early child development, education, and child protection principles.
Highly Desirable Selection Criteria
- Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching (or equivalent ACECQA approved)
- Experience working in a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of ELYF, regulations, standards and the law related to Early Child Education and Care.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering education programs.
- Police check, WWC, First Aid, CPR and Child Protection
