Early Childhood Teacher - Part Time - 18Mth Parental Leave Contract

Manly Vale Community Kindergarten is a 30 place not for profit community preschool located close to public transport. Our well established, highly regarded preschool is offering a rare opportunity for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. 

The position is a fixed contract in our 3 day group from mid May 2024 until the end of the school year December 2025. Children in this group are 4 and 5 years of age and attend between 9am and 3pm. The days and hours of work are Monday 8.00am to 1.00pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:00am to 2.00pm. Additional hours may be available for the right candidate, and consideration will be available for flexibility of hours.

You will be working within a team of three other educators, being the Educational Leader/Teacher and two Diploma Educators. Your main role will be to provide an inclusive program for all children including those who may have additional learning needs.

To be considered for the role you must have:

• Early Childhood Teaching Degree (ACECQA approved)
• Current Teacher Accreditation (NESA)
• Current Working with Children Check
• Approved Child Protection Training
• Approved First Aid Certificate with CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis

The role also requires:

• Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework v2.0.
• Experience working with children who may have an additional need.
• Understanding and respect for child protection principles and the Child Safe Standards and a commitment to inclusive practices.
• Excellent programming and documentation skills with a passion for play based learning.
• Motivation; displaying initiative and having demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
• Competence in all areas of Early Childhood compliance, legislation and WHS.
• Assuming the role of a person in day to day charge if the Director and Teacher are absent from the preschool.
