The Role:
The Garment Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that the quality and fit of garments meet company standards. This role will involve working closely with design and production teams to develop and refine patterns, conduct fittings, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in garment construction, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fashion!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify garment patterns based on design specifications and fit requirements.
- Conduct fittings and provide feedback on fit, construction, and overall quality.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve any fit or construction issues.
- Create and maintain detailed technical specifications and measurement charts.
- Review and approve pre-production samples to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Stay current on industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Garment Technician or similar role in the fashion industry.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and fit.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Adobe Illustrator.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
