Thurgoona Preschool Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based preschool that provides a quality preschool education for children 3-5 years of age. The preschool is a two-unit preschool, catering for up to 50 children per day. The preschool operates 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday during the NSW public school terms.
We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on a Permanent Part Time basis 3 days a week, this year Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, but days could change in 2025.
You would be responsible for management of the day-to-day operation of the assigned room, including providing leadership and support to educators and staff within your team in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures. In collaboration with the educational leader, you would be responsible for the development, implementation and reflection of the educational program to provide a high-quality program for all children and families. You would build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children.
Qualifications
- Hold an ACECQA approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification
- A current NSW Working with Children Check
- A first aid qualification that is approved by ACECQA that includes first aid, CPR, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis management.
- Child protection awareness and approved training
- Current NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) teacher accreditation
Experience
- Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (V2.0), the National Quality Standard and relevant legislation and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and documenting children’s learning.
- Experience and understanding of inclusion and supporting children with additional needs.
- Ability to work with other educators to lead and implement programs to develop an environment based on the children's interests and the EYLF (V 2.0).
- Dedication in providing an inclusive, nurturing and welcoming environment and program for all children and families.
- Able to meet the minimum prescribed requirements of a responsible person as per the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
- Willingness to be appointed as a Responsible Person and Educational Leader.
- Demonstrated ability to actively contribute and support continuous improvement through innovative programming, the Quality Improvement Plan and Assessment and Rating Cycle.
- High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
