IGS Early Learners is a new purpose build long day care centre and kindergarten service, catering for boys and girls from 6 weeks old to Pre-Prep.
Operated by Ipswich Grammar School, the centre opened in early January 2024. We provide exceptional care, specialist kindergarten programs and a nurturing environment that allows children to be supported and fostered in their growth and development.
The role of Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) is to lead the delivery and implementation of the educational programs and care of Pre-Prep students. This includes the day-to-day planning, preparation and operation of the assigned classroom and encompasses providing direction and support to educators and staff. Additionally, to build and maintain positive relationships with students, families and management to deliver excellent outcomes.
We are seeking an ECT interested in or holding experience in the Explicit Teaching approach. Full training in adopting the Explicit Teaching approach will be provided to the successful applicant, in addition to ongoing support.

The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible to:
- deliver educational programs to develop and encourage children’s engagement and individual abilities, consistent with the Explicit Teaching practice and the approved Framework;
- support students’ academic, social and emotional development through positive interaction with them in a variety of settings and active development of a supportive learning environment;
- participate in collaborative development and evaluation of curriculum and regularly monitor the effectiveness of the educational program;
- participate in all care and education duties as required with children at the centre; and
- maintain and present an engaging, safe and presentable learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) from a recognised university.

As a condition of employment all teaching staff are to provide evidence of their academic transcripts and evidence of their current registration with Queensland College of Teachers. Teachers are required to maintain their renewal of registration with the Queensland College of Teachers for the duration of employment. In addition, hold a current First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Qualification.
