About the opportunity:

We have a unique part-time career opportunity available for an Early Childhood Teacher (qualified or working towards) at our Rosebery Early Learning Centre, NT.

About you:

You are a qualified or working towards your Early Childhood Teacher qualification and possesses the following attributes and abilities:

  • Be passionate and motivated to deliver high-quality educational programs and learning environments.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour.
  • Provide a dynamic, supportive, caring, and safe environment for all children, staff, and caregivers.

The Y (YMCA) of the Northern Territory is a non-for profit organisation providing high quality Early Childhood education, health and youth-related community services in the NT.

Our Early Learning (childcare) service, otherwise known as Early Learning at the Y, is our quality early learning service that provides personalised Early Childhood education and care to children aged 6 weeks – 5 years, at our 7 Early Learning centres located in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, and Alice Springs.

Our commitment to safeguarding children:

The Y NT (YMCA of the Northern Territory), including its Boards of Directors, are committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. The Y NT requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

  • A national criminal history check.
  • An international criminal history check where applicants have worked overseas.
  • Holding or obtaining a Working with Children Clearance/ equivalent in accordance with state/ territory laws.
  • Two reference checks.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with the Y NT.
