About the Service
ECTARC The Basin is a 40-place multifunction service offering both preschool and long day care programs for children from 2 years to school age.
We promote and provide daily opportunities for children to learn through play, to explore, be creative, investigate, problem solve, practise skills and be challenged. We believe strongly in building genuine relationships with families as the most important step in teaching any child. We promote and respect all cultures and family groups. Located in Yuin nation, we have a strong Aboriginal culture focus.
We have a strong connection with Sanctuary Point school. Our children participate in transition to school visits to give children an effective transition from Early Childhood education to school education and familiarise children with the classrooms and the school environment.
We are an Early Start Centre, linked with Wollongong University, who provide our educators with up to date professional development and the latest research regarding Early Childhood education.
About the Role
ECTARC The Basin is seeking an educator with a Certificate III qualification to work as part of a passionate and capable team who are committed to enriching the futures of young children. As an Early Childhood Worker, you will support educators to implement the program for children birth to 5 years.
Essential Criteria
- Must have Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
- A Working with Children Check clearance number (or be willing to obtain)
- Commitment to working as a team
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of current Early Childhood theories and practice & children’s services legislation
- 12 months experience working in children’s services
- Current First Aid Certificate
