We are looking for passionate, experienced, and motivated Center Chef or Cook to join our team.
Centre Chef/Cook should be passionate about creating and preparing fresh and wholesome meals for a large group of children aged between 6 weeks and 6 years.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a wide variety of nutritious meals, purees and special diet meals for babies and children as well as freshly baked treats for families daily.
- Enjoy greeting and interacting with our families in a friendly manner and provide barista service (training provided if you are not experienced with this).
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements
- Menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and Nourished Beginnings menu guidelines.
- Experience in Baking is essential
Essential Criteria:
- Possess excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen.
- Experience in planning a rotating menu (including children with allergies and intolerances) suitable for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
- Completed minimum of Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Commercial Cookery
- Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
Possess a genuine desire and respect for early childhood education.
Desirable Criteria:
Prior experience working in an early childhood or aged care kitchen is advantageous but not essential.
