Position objectives
The Economic Project Officer will be responsible for:
- The Economic Development Project Officer’s primary focus is to manage and administer the assigned projects and activities appointed to the position. These projects will be developed in cooperation with the Economic Development Coordinator.
- To assist and provide advice to the Economic Development Coordinator in facilitating and promoting growth in new and existing industries and businesses.
- To assist in creating employment opportunities.
- To work with local, state, and regional development bodies as well as industry, investment and service providers, educational and employment providers to achieve positive economic, social and environmental outcomes.
- To develop, plan and write grant applications and submissions on behalf of Council as directed by the Economic Development Coordinator.
- Assist in the provision, collection and dissemination of economic data and information.
- Assist in the promotion of the Mildura region to investors, and manage Council events and promotions, if required.
- Provide administrative and project management support, if required to the Economic Development Coordinator.
Qualifications and experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- A Tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in an associated field such as economics, commerce, economic development, project or business management.
- Experience in management and monitoring projects and budgets.
- Extensive experience in Community and/or Project Management and implementations.
- Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one prior to employment.
- Current Drivers Licence.
Salary and conditions
The position is classified within Band 7 of Council’s current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $101,930.40 to $114,058.88 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
