  • Part time (0.5 FTE) fixed term contract for 1 year based at Camperdown, Education Unit, FMH
  • Base Salary (Pro-Rata) $95,860 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH) is committed to leading change in healthcare by educating future healthcare professionals and reimagining the way healthcare is delivered.

The Faculty's Curriculum and Quality Team provides high level support and advice to all academic and professional staff in relation to curriculum content, accreditation and quality matters as well as admissions, academic integrity and Faculty-level appeals.

As Education and Curriculum Officer you will liaise with academic and professional stakeholders providing on-going support in developing curriculum proposals, supporting the governance process and implementing all FMH curriculum changes. Using your strong level of initiative and attention to detail you will assess implications of curriculum issues and amendments and ensure important curriculum changes meet policy and can be brought to fruition.

There is a requirement for this position to be on site a minimum of 2 days a week and wfh. Hybrid working options will be decided with your manager if you are successful in this position.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Review and critically analyse minor and major curriculum course proposals from the Faculty, ensuring they are accurate and adhere to University policy and system requirements as well as guiding staff through the University's governance approval processes through to implementation
  • facilitate and implement the deployment of approved curriculum proposals by ensuring the Faculty's curriculum information on Sydney Student, Sydney Courses, the handbook and other web pages and publications are correct
  • work with other members of the Curriculum and Quality team and PSUs to coordinate with faculty staff regarding curriculum related matters such as reviews, policy changes, course approval processes and other compliance matters
  • interpret, advise and implement relevant University policy and practices and assist Academic, Teaching and Professional staff with general policy interpretation and other procedural issues related to curriculum matters
  • liaise with and establish effective working relationships with key staff to ensure that the work area's curriculum, learning and teaching priorities and needs are effectively met
  • collate, prepare and update curriculum documentation for Academic and Teaching staff for use in printed and online publications, as required
  • proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that arise as part of normal daily work

About you

  • experience in curriculum support and governance in a tertiary environment
  • excellent oral and written communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • excellent client focus with the ability to build partnerships between the faculty academic leadership and education teams and the PSUs within the university
  • strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
