Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist in delivering community activities aligned with the strategic plan.
- Effectively communicate with schools and community groups.
- Coordinate a variety of community education, corporate, and tourism-based activities.
- Roster staff and manage inquiries under the supervision of the Education Manager (EM).
- Support the EM in planning and implementing future training.
- Deliver educational services within the Club and to the community.
- Implement decisions from the Lifesaving Committee and Board of Directors positively.
- Ensure effective communication between Chief Training Officer (CTO) and EM.
- Manage risks and adhere to Workplace Health and Safety practices during activities and training.
- Assist EM/OM with ad hoc duties as requested.
Skills & Experience
- Proficient SLSA Bronze Medallion, held for a minimum of two years.
- PUA20119 – Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue).
- Hold a current First Aid certificate – HLTAID011.
- Hold a current Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy – HLTAID015.
- Currently hold or willing to attain Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (TAE20122 or equivalent).
- Currently hold or willing to attain a Blue Card.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic level of information technology skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience in dealing with and coordinating volunteers and staff.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Experience in dealing with and coordinating people, especially youth.
- Highly desirable to have had previous experience in Education Programs/Instructing Awards within Surf Life Saving.
Key Performance Indicators
- Deliver agreed lesson plans (timeframes and outcomes).
- Implement action plans to achieve key objectives of Community Education Programs.
- Maintain positive relationships with schools and community groups.
- Complete instructions from the EM.
- Adhere to SLSQ standards.
