A rewarding opportunity is available for a committed Education Support professional to join the inclusive community of a Primary school in Melton South, situated in Melbourne's West. This full-time role involves working with students from Foundation to Year 6 on an as-needed basis, supporting the cultivation of positive behaviour, offering additional assistance to students requiring accommodations, and aiding teachers as required. If you're dedicated to making a difference in students' lives, this position could be the perfect fit for you.
Key duties:
- Providing support to teachers by assisting with classroom management, lesson preparation, and instructional activities.
- Work with small groups of students, providing one-on-one assistance, or helping to implement differentiated instruction strategies.
- Monitor students during lunch breaks, recess, and other non-instructional times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Implement behaviour management techniques to address disruptive behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
- Provide additional support to students who may require special accommodations or interventions due to learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, or other needs.
- Assist with the administration of assessments and tracking student progress to identify areas where additional support may be needed.
- Encourage positive behaviour and student engagement through praise, encouragement, and reinforcement of desired behaviours.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement strategies for meeting the diverse needs of students in a challenging school environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Must have complete a certificate III or IV in Education Support
- Demonstrate previous experience as Education Support Staff
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years
