C&K Burpengary Kindergarten is a community based not-for-profit educational service, that caters for up to 25 children across the learning space. Our centre and its natural surroundings are well sought after, and we are rated as an “Exceeding” service by ACCEQA. The staff seek to continuously improve in their practices and are well supported by a Parent Management Committee.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Inclusion Support Educator who is warm, friendly and passionate about working alongside children in their early years. We are looking for someone who will positively contribute to a team, that values open communication and sees children as competent and capable learners.
The kindergarten operates 2 Kindy groups from Tues-Fri, with a Pre-kindy program on Mondays.
If successful, you will be working 2 days per week, 8.5 hours each day, during school term time. This is an ongoing position that has the possibility of extending into the following year and beyond, for the right candidate.
About you
As an Educator, you will bring your enthusiasm for achieving long-lasting, high-quality outcomes for children, their families, and the community alongside a team-player mindset. The right candidate will also need:
- Certificate lll qualification in early childhood or above (qualification must be recognised by ACECQA)
- Current First Aid, CPR and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification
- Hold or willing to obtain a paid Blue Card
- Previous experience working with young children in a similar role (desirable)
- Awareness of the National Quality Framework, EYLF and Queensland Kindergarten guidelines
- An understanding of the provision of a welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environment for all children and their families
- A demonstrated ability to adhere to and understand the ECA code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
- Skills for documenting children's learning and development
- An ability to implement a planned program, in collaboration with the Early Childhood Teacher, ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met
- The commitment to ongoing reflection, and the development of professional skills and abilities through mentoring and training.
