Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced EHS Professional to join our team considering the expanding market opportunities within the dynamic energy sector. Our focus on driving safety and environmental excellence is at the core of our values. In this role, your technical expertise and leadership will play a crucial part in advancing our global EHS initiatives.

As a seasoned EHS professional, you will have the chance to collaborate with teams across various functions, exert influence on strategic choices, and ensure the utmost standards of safety and compliance across our operations in Australia. You will lead the implementation of the EHS management system, drawing on your expert-level understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS 18001 management systems. Moreover, your efforts will be in alignment with local legal guidelines and labour laws, ensuring a comprehensive approach to EHS management.

Your responsibility will include.

  1. Country EQS Lead providing overall governance support for the various Business Areas reporting to Country MD and;
  2. Key EHS representative for the Gas Services Business Area.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Hold a bachelor’s degree in technical education, training, and/or EHS-related fields (e.g., Safety Officer), or possess recognized certificates that showcase your expertise.
  • Experience: Bring a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the field of occupational safety, with a track record of implementing successful EHS programs.
  • Leadership: Showcase exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards a shared vision of safety and sustainability excellence.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrate a strategic mindset, capable of formulating and executing comprehensive EHS strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Communication: Demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively convey complex EHS concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Showcase strong problem analysis and problem-solving abilities, allowing you to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Language: Exhibit a strong command of English, both written and spoken, ensuring seamless communication in our global environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Possess proficiency in MS Office applications and precision measuring tools, enabling you to leverage technology for EHS advancements.
  • Legal Compliance: Demonstrate a solid understanding of applicable statutory requirements, ensuring our operations adhere to all relevant regulations.
  • Authorization: Hold full working rights in Australia, enabling you to contribute effectively to our operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a deep understanding of applicable statutory requirements, ensuring our operations are fully compliant.
  • Energy Sector Experience: Prior experience within the energy sector or power plants will be highly advantageous, allowing you to bring domain-specific insights to the role.

Your responsibilities

  • EHS Leadership: Collaborate closely with the EHS Project Officer and Project Manager to drive and contribute to global EHS programs and initiatives. Monitor and assess their effectiveness, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Audits and Inspections: Lead the execution of global audit, assessment, and inspection programs, including certification audits where applicable. Implement measures in coordination with the EHS Project Officer and Project Manager to enhance safety and compliance.
  • Incident Management: Facilitate and advise root cause analysis for incidents, working closely with assigned sites. Oversee the implementation of preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
  • Competence Management: Establish and maintain a robust competence management and training system for EHS-related competences across assigned factories/regions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with management teams, support functions, and relevant stakeholders on a global scale to achieve our EHS policy objectives.
  • Risk Management: Implement EHS-related risk management in processes, projects, and products, contributing to the overall safety and sustainability of our operations.
  • Reporting and Communication: Ensure accurate and timely EHS-related reporting and communication to internal and external stakeholders, authorities, and management teams.
  • Strategy Implementation: Drive the execution of the Business Unit EHS strategy and roadmap for the assigned region, in alignment with standards from the EHS Project Officer.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including management teams, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead and guide the organization on regional EHS measures, fostering strong collaboration with Country EHS Officers and counterparts to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Business Unit Collaboration: Collaborate with Business Unit leaders to integrate EHS considerations into strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Identify innovative EHS best practices and technologies, leveraging them to enhance our operations and minimize environmental impact.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of EHS regulations and trends, advising on compliance and strategic adjustments as needed.
