We have an exciting opportunity available for an Electrical & Instrumental Technician to join our Networks Operations team in Thomastown, on a Permanent Full-time basis.
Reporting to the Manager - Electrical Systems, you will play a key role in building, repairing, modifying and maintaining assets within the control of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Construction, installation, and maintenance of telemetry/SCADA and electrical equipment
- Installation, maintenance, and calibration of electrical/electronic instruments used for gas measurement
- Conduct technical investigations of electrical/electronic systems and make recommendations
- Assist the Engineering department in project work at the design and development stage
- Provide professional technical advice and training to colleagues, subordinates, and people from outside organizations
About You
- Electrical trade qualification and proven experience as a qualified electrical tradesperson
- Experience in handling hazardous materials and knowledge of relevant procedures and codes of practice
- Understanding and experience of Electrical Instrumentation equipment and the basic principles of gas measurement
- Knowledge in general and technical software packages and experience in a quality environment using Australian Standards
- Post-trade studies in other technical subjects, especially in electronics or electrical installations (preferred)

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
