AddressTalent International is looking for an EL1 Assistant Director Finance to work for one of our Federal Government clients for a 6 month contract (with view to extend). This role is based in Surry Hills and is looking to pay $602.55pd + super.
The EL1 Assistant Director Finance is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the organisation.
The position is an important team leadership position within the organisation and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Leading the planning, preparation, execution and monitoring of external budget and reporting activities.
- Updating annual estimates and monthly profiles in alignment with Government's budget processes including accurate input into the Central Budget Management System (CBMS).
- Liaising and negotiating with the Department of Finance and other external stakeholders on budget related matters.
- Leading the preparation of reporting to the Department of Finance.
- Leading the development of team operating procedures and user guides.
- Delivering the Agency's Budget and various Finance projects.
- Delivering various month-end financial reporting and analysis.
- Partnering with teams within and external to the branch to provide general accounting and strategic financial advice.
- Developing and presenting a range of written material of a financial and business nature, including correspondence, briefs and reports.
Requirements:
- Familiar with project reporting concept;
- Proficient in using SAP system;
- Advanced excel skills;
- Experience in the Disability, Health or Aged sectors advantageous
- Government experience highly desirable
