This federal government agency is a Corporate Commonwealth entity whose objective is to improve the competitiveness and supply of renewable energy in Australia. A new position for an Assistant director of Government Relations has been created to aid and deliver strategies and initiatives aimed at building and maintaining this agencies reputation with parliamentary and other government stakeholders.
Your new role
Assisting the Director of Government Relations, this role will be responsible for, coordinating regular engagement between the CEO and chair and the portfolio ministers and their officers. Further, you will be tasked with:
- Providing strategic advice to help with the engagement with federal and state and territory governments, ministers and parliamentarians.
- Assisting with the delivery of Government Relations strategies.
- Reviewing of correspondence, briefs and reports including submissions and documents and other regular content for senior leadership and various committee considerations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be experienced with working with ministerial offices, parliamentarians and agencies at a federal level, supported by:
- A strong background and experience in managing Government Relations strategies and initiatives at a Federal or State government setting.
- The ability to network, build and maintain an intimate understanding of political party dynamics by using strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to quickly and clearly synthesise and articulate complex issues.
