All Aspects Recruitment & HR Services are currently recruiting for an EL1 AssistantDirector Indigenous & Remote Operations for a temporary role from June 2024 till December 2025.
You will be part of a high-performing team driving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. The team is responsible for developing and implementing strategies aimed at addressing the risk impacting quality of services and safeguarding of participants in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
EL1 pay scaleMultiple LocationsManage, mentor, and develop a small team, including providing direction, human resources, conflict resolution, coaching, workload, and performance management.Develop and implement an Indigenous Compliance Strategy and a Remote area Compliance Strategy.Provide advice and support to manage and guide compliance operations in aboriginal communities.Lead, plan, and conduct high quality end-to-end compliance monitoring and investigations work into disability service providers and workers and their response to issues of safety, well-being, and quality of support services for people with a disability and recommend appropriate action.Collaborate and actively participate in the development and dissemination of policies, guidelines, resources, and procedures for the conduct of the team’s activities and continuous improvement undertakings.Develop and maintain excellent and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Work collaboratively with other agencies or authorities and where appropriate refer matters to them under the relevant jurisdictional law.Support promotion and education campaigns to inform and educate NDIS providers, participants and the public about the NDIS Commissioner’s functions and the requirements of relevant legislation and rulesExecute delegations with due consideration for good administrative decision-making legislative obligations and policies.What we need you to have to be considered for this role:
Our ideal candidate understands the importance of and is excellent at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including stakeholders from government agencies, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the broader community.
Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities. Have local knowledge about the community and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with community members. is highly desirable.Five or more years’ experience with a regulatory agency or other government agency preparing policies and procedures to implement regulatory approaches and/or quality assurance activities is highly desirable.Knowledge of the issues facing people with disability in the context of their rights, health, safety and wellbeing.A positive, contemporary attitude to people with disability and have highly developed leadership skills to nurture and support staff, and to develop excellent working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across indigenous communities.Comprehensive understanding of contemporary regulatory practices and approaches.Excellent written and oral communication skills including the capacity to produce quality briefs, reports, and correspondence of a complex nature.The ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to achieve quality outcomes.The ability, and the confidence, to make sound judgements and decisions based on thorough research, innovation and evidence-based practice.An understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and the NDIS Act 2013.Experience in or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a State or Territory Government context.To apply please submit your resume to: ****@aarecruit.com.au with the subject EL1 AssistantDirector Indigenous & Remote Operations
