Seeking a Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer to play a vital role in managing the Midrange Unix Infrastructure for a large Organisation. They will also be responsible for mentoring junior Infrastructure Engineers, providing technical leadership to application teams, and advancing troubleshooting capabilities i.e. Level 2/ Level 3 support across the Midrange environments.

The Opportunity
The Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer will work with project and application teams to understand the business needs, be able to articulate the business needs into a technical solution which is secure by design and focused on automation to introduce efficiency and innovation.
They will also be a key contributor to introduce the resiliency and reduction of technical debt in the Midrange infrastructure environment by undertaking upgrades, patching and migrations to the new platforms. There may be requirement to occasionally support after hours scheduled work or on a more routine basis as part of Unix Operations team on call roster system.
All candidates applying for this position must be an Australian Citizen and have a current NV1 Security Clearance. They will also have to provide a referee report to be included in a compliant submission for this opportunity.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Evaluate and assist in the ongoing support of ISM compliant secure Midrange Unix infrastructure platforms.
- Support security monitoring and implementing improvements.
- Mentor and coach other junior Infrastructure Engineers within the team, fostering their professional development and technical growth.
