Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer.This is a long-term contract role for 12 months with the possibility of 2 extensions, located at our client's offices in ACT, QLD, SA, VIC.As the selected candidate, you will:

• Manage Midrange Unix Infrastructure.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

• Collaborate with teams to plan and implement infrastructure improvements.

• Participate in incident response and problem management.

• Support security monitoring and mentorship.

• Occasionally support after-hours work as part of the Unix Operations team.

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems.

• Proficiency in creating detailed technical documentation.

• Ability to work collaboratively with networking, compute, storage, and security engineers.

• Experience in coordinating deployment with vendors and internal resources.

It is desirable if you have:

• Experience with Red Hat Ansible automation, Pacemaker, and Satellite.

• Knowledge of Red Hat Identity Manager.

• Experience with Virtualisation platforms such as IBM Power, VMware, OpenStack, or Oracle SPARC.

• Red Hat Certified Administrator (RHCA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or Oracle Solaris Administration Certification.
