One of Australia's Leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage an experienced Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineerto play a vital role managing Midrange Unix Infrastructure. You will also be responsible for mentoring Junior Engineers and working with application teams to understand business needs with a focus on Automation to introduce efficiency and innovation. The role can be based in Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide with remote work also available. The successful Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineerwill be offered a 12 month contractwith 2 X 12 month extension options.
The successfulUnix/Linux Infrastructure Engineerwill be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Evaluating and assisting in the ongoing support of ISM compliance Midrange Unix platforms
- Participating in Incident Response and Problem Management activities
- Supporting Security Monitoring and implementing improvements
- Collaborating with other teams across the division to assess, plan and implement Infrastructure improvements and upgrades
The successful Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineerwill have experience in the following:
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Unix and Solaris
- Understanding and knowledge of business continuity requirements as well as plans and solutions to support them
- Experience with Oracle and Ansible Automation Platforms
- Ability to support formal change management processes
