HOBAN Recruitment is pleased to be assisting our client, a prominent organisation within the disability sector, in their search for an EL1 Level Assistant Director Internal Audit (Labour Hire) based in DEAKIN ACT. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our client in the Disability sector's strategic objectives.
As the EL1 Assistant Director Level Internal Audit (Labour Hire), you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing critical internal audit functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing engagement plans and contributing to annual internal audit planning.
- Conducting comprehensive field audit engagements to enhance governance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Leading a team in conducting interviews, completing Risk and Control Matrices (RACM), and presenting audit findings.
- Preparation of detailed internal audit reports for various stakeholders including the Board and Audit Committee.
- Managing follow-up activities to ensure closure of audit issues in accordance with our client's IA methodology.
- Engaging and liaising effectively with key internal and external stakeholders on auditing matters.
- Promoting awareness and education of the Internal Audit function across the Agency.
- Supporting the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) in their inquiries and requests.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Proven experience in leading internal audit engagements within a complex environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Sound understanding of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (desired).
- Membership with a relevant professional body such as CPA Australia or CA ANZ (desired).
