El1 Program Manager

For over 40 years Chandler Macleod’s recruitment business has connected leading-edge projects and employers with outstanding business professionals.Our client is seeking to engage an EL1 Program Manager.Location: Brisbane/Canberra/SydneyContract Length: 12 months, with option to extend 2 X 12 monthsEligibility/Security Requirement: Applicants must have Baseline Security ClearancePrimary purpose of position:The purpose of the position is to provide strategic program level support for complex and sensitive high level Agency programs under broad direction. The Program Manager exercises a considerable degree of independence and performs a leadership role in the Agency.The Program Manager will exercise sound decision making and judgement to produce high level policy advice. They will engage in complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and undertake detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for the agency. They will also be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships within and outside the agency and may manage one or more work teams.Responsibilities:

• In the Program Manager role there will be a focus on project milestones, including key procurement, and to drive delivery and interconnectedness across key groups in the Agency and external stakeholders. Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration and planning skills are required.
• The Program Manager will be required to participate in the planning and delivering activities to ensure practical delivery of outcomes for consumers and clinicians. In doing so the Program Manager must ensure collaboration, strategic alignment and integrated planning and execution across multiple functions in a high-paced matrix organisation. The Program Manager must understand and represent Government priorities and Agency strategy to ensure the successful delivery of the program through a clear and shared understanding of what needs to be achieved.
• The National Infrastructure Program is a technology delivery program of work and as such requires Program Managers with knowledge and/or experience in technology delivery and an ability to manage technical priorities and complex dependencies related to this program of work.
• The Program Manager will also be required to contribute, co-ordinate and align key information on the program for the Agency governance committees, Board and other External Government and industry stakeholders.
