Overview
The Elective Surgery Coordination Manager is responsible to the Executive Director Operations, for ensuring the logistical coordination of patient access to elective surgical services.
The position will also provide strategic advice and support about Elective Surgery which will assist BHFLHN in meeting its objectives.
The position will ensure operational efficiencies linked to Elective Surgery Management, to improve self-sufficiency, reduce waiting lists, improve timeliness of treatment and maximise throughput of efficient and patient focussed elective cases.
The Elective Surgery Coordination Manager also provides operational advice on the achievement of Elective Surgery performance targets and national benchmarks. The incumbent will be responsible for undertaking the following functions:
- Provide logistical management of surgical services for elective patients in line with the Department of Health’s Policy Framework for Elective Surgical Services, and Elective Surgery Strategy, with a particular focus on consultation and liaison with key stakeholders within services
- Participate on relevant committees across BHFLHN and SA Health as required;
- Liaise with nursing leadership and medical officers accountable for Elective Surgery;
- Participate in the development and utilisation of audit and reporting mechanisms to monitor, analyse and report on core data accessed from associated information systems
- Develop reports and ensure dissemination of reports to relevant stakeholders;
- Contribute to quality programs and accreditation processes.
