About the Role
The JBS Brooklyn Plant (located 15 minutes west of the Melbourne CBD) currently has an opportunity for an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer with a high-performance mindset to join the Engineering Leadership Team in a full-time capacity.
Reporting to the site Engineering Manager, and supported by the JBS Group Engineering Leaders, this role forms an integral part of the engineering management team and is accountable for leading the electrical function of ten (10) team members. You will be known for your ability to develop collaborative & time critical solutions using solid engineering principles to support multiple operational functions performed on site.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the reliability and safe operation of all plant electrical, control and automation systems
- Identifying and developing potential plant and operational efficiency improvements to improve production and minimize downtime and waste
- Maintaining and providing all required control system documentation including schematics, manuals, parameters and layouts.
- Maintaining sufficient spare parts and equipment to cover all critical areas and source prospective suppliers for obsolete equipment
- Proactively supporting and leading the maintenance team to resolve Electrical and control issues
- Following up on completed work and confirming satisfactory and safe work practices
- Ensuring all electrical personnel are consulted, trained and competent in the current and future control systems
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering with further experience in control systems
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous
- Sound understanding of Electrical Safety and regulatory requirements including best practice outcomes
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
- Strong analytical skills
- Previous people management and leadership skills
