Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (PLC & Control Automation) to join our dynamic team in Melbourne on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring seamless operation of electrical and instrumentation systems, guaranteeing safety, efficiency, and reliability across our systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Architect electrical control systems for machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Review electrical engineering drawings and design electrical systems
- Create electrical installation details, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, electrical & signal cable routing and BQ material lists.
- Spearhead the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOM) and actively engage in procurement and supplier management.
- Execute meticulous electrical wiring and routing of control panels and machinery.
- Develop and refine PLC and HMI programs for machinery and equipment, demonstrating expertise in troubleshooting, debugging, and commissioning.
- Develop & review the Process Instrumentation and Control documentation such as P&ID, logic diagrams, control narratives, IO signal list, cable list, control panels.
- Support site installation, site acceptance test and function test during Test & Commissioning phase. Coordinate and review with sub-contractor, third party vendor, system owner. Ensure Quality & Health Safety standard and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate closely with project team members and suppliers, ensuring seamless integration and execution.
- Deliver comprehensive project proposals and updates to internal stakeholders.
- Drive value-added engineering initiatives, proactively contributing innovative ideas for enhancement.
- Flexibility to undertake ad hoc projects and duties as assigned, showcasing adaptability and initiative.
Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics / Mechatronics / Control Systems Engineering.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience in electrical design and PLC programming, with expertise in PLC design as a prerequisite.
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI Programming, with a demonstrated aptitude for Electrical Circuit Drawing and Electrical Panel Design (preferably with AutoCAD / Draftsight).
- Advantageous skills include expertise in Labview Programming, C++, and Communication Protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS232, CCLink, DeviceNet).
- Sound knowledge of Electrical Power Systems and Instrumentation Control, with exposure to Machine Vision (2D-3D-Bin Picking) and Robotics Integration being highly desirable.
- Willingness to undertake global travel as required.
- Previous experience in chemical plants, high-pressure systems, and/or the industrial gas sector is advantageous.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) or National Instrumentation Certification Program (NICP) is beneficial.
