ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Draftsperson will be responsible for taking ownership of internal electrical drafting standards and processes, producing and maintaining electrical design drawings and creating associated documentation such as BOM’s, schedules and drawing transmittals to facilitate distribution to both internal and external stakeholders. This is a 12 month contract role.
Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Generating/maintaining Design Drawings - Creating General Arrangements/Layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLD’s), Schematics, termination Diagrams, panel diagrams (2D/3D), and earthing diagrams. Update drawings from red line markups, ensure accurate as-built documentation is produced, and ensure all drawings and revisions are stored in the company document management system.
- Documentation Management - Taking ownership and making improvements to the CAD system used to manage and generate electrical drawings, including creating & maintaining libraries/catalogs, naming/numbering conventions, revisioning, backups and transmittal of physical/digital copies.
- Work Package Scope - Scoping of drafting work packages for facility electrical distribution, machine electrical designs, network infrastructure drawings.
- Multi-disciplinary Integration - Coordination of drawing sets and managing information transfer processes with other internal teams (mechanical, automation).
- Software Management - Assisting with drafting software configuration for workstations. Making recommendations and providing feedback to management for CAD workstation requirements. Advising on software updates to new versions and coordinating the rollout with users.
ABOUT YOU
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and qualifications:
- Diploma in electrical drafting and design, or similar qualification
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Advanced use of Autodesk AutoCAD. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical Tool Subset is highly regarded but not essential.
- Autodesk Vault experience desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food processing / industrial instrumentation desirable but not essential
Must have permanent Australian residency.
