You have the power to shape things to make them better.About the Role:Can you bring your expertise in Power Systems to our Aluminium Smelter to build a challenging and rewarding career with us?Our Portland Smelter is looking for suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis within our swithyard team.You will play a key part in supporting our operations through:Identifying long term opportunities for improvement through the provision of technical expertise with a focus on Power Systems equipment,Providing single point accountability for engineering support within our operations,Being a catalyst and contributing to improvements in performance in both the short and long term.Your role as a Electrical Engineer will be challenging and diverse, and require a strong customer focus, great team mindset and a passion for continous improvement.Working Monday through Friday, with one flexi leisure day every four-week period you will enjoy the challenges of a technical site role coupled with great work life balance.What’s on offer:Career development opportunities to pursue your passionMonthly Leisure DayBenefits allowancePerformance related bonus (variable)16 weeks paid parental leave schemePaid annual volunteer hoursSocial and diversity focused engagement opportunitiesWhat you can bring to the role:To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, with previous experience in Power Systems.Experience of working in a heavy industrial, manufacturing or smelting environment.An understanding of risk management and quality improvement.The ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation with a customer centric mentality.A track record in pro-active problem solving with your use of initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performance.Additional informationInterviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered.You will only be contacted if you are shortlisted for an interview, this process can take up to four weeks from the closing date.#LI-CW1About the LocationOur Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%). Alcoa manages the day-to-day operations at the smelter and we produce approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s total aluminium production in Portland.
