Role Summary:
This role involves spearheading the initial processes of Transmission/Distribution overhead and underground mains projects, including project scoping, estimating, and detailed design. A deep understanding of large-scale project design and construction support is required, along with a proven track record in effectively dealing with major utilities like TfNSW, Sydney Water, and Jemena. It is vital for ensuring that projects are executed smoothly, aligning with our client’s commitment to delivering value to their customers and partners through well-considered designs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transmission and distribution mains design, particularly with augmentation and relocation projects in NSW contestable works (ASP3).
- Comprehensive knowledge of standards, policies, and procedures for designing Transmission and Distribution mains, both overhead and underground.
- Proficient or knowledgeable in engineering software such as PLS-CADD, CYMCAP, NEARA, and CAD drafting.
- Experienced in collaborating with various network service providers and familiar with their design and construction approval processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer detailed designs for Transmission/Distribution overhead and underground mains, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform Safety in Design reviews, adhering to all relevant procedures and regulations to mitigate risks.
- Proactively engage with clients to understand their requirements, ensuring designs deliver functional and economic value.
- Cultivate a collaborative team environment, driving continuous improvement in design practices through industry insights and technological advancements.
- Provide expert technical support to project managers during construction phases, ensuring technical integrity and compliance.
