Strata Products Australia is part of the Atlanta USA based Strata Worldwide. In Australia, we operate in Newcastle, Perth and Mackay. Due to continued growth in our core markets of Mining, Tunnelling and Construction we require an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our Field Services team. The Electrical Engineering Technician will act as the primary point of contact between the business and the customer, providing technical support and managing their enquiries predominantly for the range of Proximity Detection solutions.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Installation and Maintenance: Install equipment and systems to ensure quality service and maintenance of company and customer systems. Experience on heavy mining machinery is essential.
- Supervisory Role: Supervise installation and assembly work completed by other technicians and external trades technicians.
- Equipment Maintenance and Testing: Independently maintain and conduct testing of various equipment and systems, ensuring they meet operational standards.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Investigate equipment and system failures to determine causes and perform necessary repair work.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain a thorough understanding of all technical equipment and systems within the manufacturing facility or workshop. Support innovation in equipment, systems, and controls.
- Team Leadership and Training: Supervise and train other technicians within the team, fostering a collaborative and skilled working environment.
- Compliance with SOPs and Regulations: Adhere to and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health, Safety, and Environment regulations.
- Time Management: Manage time effectively to provide consistent technical support to both customers and the company manufacturing facility or workshop.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Guide and mentor technicians within the team, using analytical skills to independently explore solutions to complex technical issues.
- Customer Service Excellence: Act as a primary point of contact for customers, managing enquiries, and providing high-quality technical support.
- Quality Control: Ensure the installations, services, and maintenance activities meet the highest quality standards.
- Safety Advocacy: Promote a culture of safety within the team and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records and technical documentation related to installations, maintenance, and repairs.
The role does require both a current driver’s licence and relevant qualifications in Electrotechnology covering data communications, radio communications or electrical trades. Experience is essential in the industry and related product lines. The role is based in our APAC HQ located in Mayfield West NSW.
