About Blackwater Mine:
Situated 73 kilometres south-east of Emerald, Blackwater is the second-largest open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This long-life operation began in 1967 and has grown to become one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of 80 kilometres. Blackwater extracts high quality metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market using truck and shovel, as well as loader and dragline.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Maintenance Supervisor to join the Whitehaven Coal family. This position requires a proficient leader to manage the Electrical Maintenance teams and ensure that performance targets are achieved in a timely and safe manner.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure maintenance activities prioritise safety, through; effective hazard identification, risk management, encourage proactive work to reduce need for potential high-risk tasks
- Maintenance days and Outages are run “on time” and minimise Mean Time to Failure after Shutdown through Quality Assurance.
- Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and developmental activities to members of the team driving a positive workplace culture that reflects Whitehaven Principles.
- Ensure collection of data, focusing on Statutory testing results, component identification and downtime data capturing machine performance for improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Provide technical support to contracts and warehouse personnel for procurement and management of parts.
- Work with the planning team to deliver a productive plan
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary Electrical Trade Certificate.
- Sound experience in the mining or heavy industry or processing plant with strong working knowledge of Electrical Maintenance, Planning and CMMS.
- Strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation with excellent presentation and reporting skills.
- Current Unencumbered “C” Class Drivers Licence
