Position PurposeThe purpose of an Electrical Supervisor is to assist the engineer and maintenance manager to provide leadership and control of engineering and maintenance, services across Oakey Beef Exports work site.
The position aims to:
- Ensure efficient and cost effective delivery of maintenance and engineering services at the OBEX site.
- Assist with planning and leading of assigned Engineering or major R & M / Capital Projects.
- Assist the Engineer and Maintenance Manager with Capital, Engineering and Environmental Projects.
- Assist Maintenance Manager with management and delivery of maintenance systems and services.
- With the Engineer and Maintenance Manager provide leadership and support to the management and staff of OBEX site, as required.
- Actively assist with implementing all Oakey policies and procedures, safe work instructions to ensure compliance with legislative responsibilities.
- Assist with implementing Oakey’s Workplace Health and Safety Management system within the electrical work areas.
- Effectively communicate with the Maintenance, Engineer and General Manager.
- Ensure the proper and effective use of available resources, including equipment and people
- Consistently achieve maintenance programs to approved schedules and effectively manage re-engineering projects to the maximum production capability.
- Manage systems for continuous improvement and ensure compliance with associated standards and regulations – but emphasizing environmental.
- Investigate and report opportunities for improvements to energy and utility processes, methods and costs.
- Attend to timely completion of specific maintenance requests to priorities for Oakey site and provide operational leadership of a general nature to direct reports at OBEX.
- Maintain productive, open and effective relationships with Company colleagues, Industry and Regulatory authorities.
- Provide effective leadership to all areas and functions.
- Support and co-ordinate the activities of the Electrical Team by providing a system of delegation and control.
- Foster staff relations and build team morale.
- Assisting in the rehabilitation of injured or ill employees
- Comply with WH&S policies, procedures and regulations.
- Medium computer skills.
- Qualified electrician
- Five years maintenance experience in plant maintenance.
- Knowledge of relevant building and Environmental regulations and WHS & Injury Management Act.
