Electrical Foreman / Workshop Manager

Northern Switchboard Solutions is a locally owned and operated Switchboard manufacturer that has been operating in Townsville for 23 years, delivering quality products throughout Australia and the South pacific.

NSS are currently seeking a highly motived qualified electrician to become part of our small team.  The ideal candidate will be willing to learn and grow to or step into an Electrical Foreman's role with career progression into the role of Workshop manager.

Electrician Base rate               $40.00 per hour

Forman Base rate                   $48.00 per hour

Workshop Manager Salary     $120,000.00 per annum

Foreman / Workshop Manageer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership: Oversee and manage a team of skilled electricians and trades assistants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
2. Production Planning: Develop and execute efficient production schedules to meet deadlines and ensure optimal workflow in the electrical workshop.
3. Quality Control: Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures to uphold industry standards and exceed customer expectations.
4. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency within the manufacturing process.
5. Resource Management: Effectively allocate resources, including manpower and materials, to meet production demands and maximize output
6. Productivity: Maintain productivity with flexibility and a hands on approach for switchboad assembly, wiring, testing and commissioning

Requirements:

• Understanding of relevant Australian standards and regulations, 
• Understanding NSS specific policies and procedures through training.
• Understanding of all additional product related information through training.
• Ability to prove knowledge in electrical switchboard manufacturing through training.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and clients

Workshop Manager
The Workshop Manager is a hands-on workshop-based role responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safe and efficient workshop activities. It is not a fully office-based administration role. As the Workshop Manager, you will: 

• Supervise workshop staff and ensure efficient operations
• Meet delivery dates for all orders
• Manage staff performance including supervision of apprentices
• Conduct functional testing of completed boards and contribute to production meetings
• Monitor compliance with technical, quality & safety standards
• Establish and review procedures for the operation of the Workshop floor
• Assist with all technical requirements within the Workshop
• Ensure effective and efficient production methods are employed
• Monitor compliance with technical, quality & safety standards
• Initiate & develop continuous improvement processes
• Assist with Switchboard manufacture and technical drawings.
