Your new role:
Due to expansion of our footprint in Karratha, we are recruiting for a trade qualified Electrical Maintenance & Service Technician (with recent Hydraulic and PLC experience) to join our team based at our major client’s site in the Pilbara region of WA.
Working on an 8/6 roster, the successful candidate will preferably reside in Karratha and be eligible to receive subsidized housing zone allowance.
Key responsibilities of the role are:
- Represent Marand’s suite of equipment at a customer’s site.
- Provide ongoing service to a variety of machinery and automated equipment.
- Trouble shoot and identify required repairs and/or replacement of parts, whilst also providing technical customer support and training on the proper use of machinery, fixtures, and other mechanical aspects of the equipment.
- Perform diagnosis and repairs in the field as required.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure ongoing optimal functionality of required tools and equipment.
- Assist other trades personnel as required for the purpose of completion of works activities (e.g. commissioning, on-site repair/servicing, fault finding).
- Prepare documentation and reports such as pre and post service reports, SWMS, maintenance schedules, etc.
- Work closely with the customer to build relationships and maintain / improve up time on equipment.
About You:
As an ideal candidate, you will have:
- Trade qualifications in Fitting & Turning, Electrical, or similar, and a current Electrical licence.
- Recent experience in working with hydraulic equipment.
- Previous experience as a Service Technician is highly advantageous.
- Experienced in troubleshooting PLC’s and NC controls (Siemens Preferred)
- Understanding of Hydraulics, Pneumatics and CNC Machine Operation
- Proficient in the disassembly, assembly, and repair of a variety of machines and components.
- Demonstrated experience in equipment fault diagnosis and able to use specialised diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
