We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Electrical Service Technician in Gladstone. The key purpose is to carry out maintenance, inspections, repairs, modernisations and installations of Alimak equipment and related height safety equipment in a cost efficient and profitable manner while achieving high quality standards and workmanship. Working for the Alimak Industrial Division, this position reports directly to Industrial Installation Supervisor Gladstone.
Key Tasks:
- Carry out detailed electrical & mechanical inspection services to all makes and models of Alimak lifts and hoists.
- Work independently on repair, complex modernizations and installation jobs and equipment.
- Be able to solve electrical & mechanical problems by yourself on non-standard complicated equipment.
- Carry out maintenance, repairs, large modernizations, installations and problem-solving mechanical faults autonomously on Alimak and related equipment.
- Have a detailed knowledge of Alimak products and services.
- Have a detailed understanding of Alimak Service tools.
- Have a detailed understanding of Alimak Safety and Risk Assessment policies and procedures.
- Have the ability to work safely.
- To provide mechanical service on Alimak Service and customer equipment being prepared for hire in Alimak workshops.
- To assist in the installation, service and refurbishment of industrial lifts and to provide back up for the erection and dismantling of Rental equipment and occasionally customer’s equipment on Construction sites.
- To perform the regular service and maintenance of customers lifts and other products. This will involve travelling to sites in remote areas and staying away overnight for extended periods.
- To complete service documentation to required standards and in a timely manner.
- To participate in company training programs from time to time
- To be pro-active in generating leads and potential sales for refurbishments and spare parts
- To provide mechanical service and break down support for Alimak and other vertical access equipment
Skills & Experiences:
- Good communication skills - written/oral
- Strong leadership skills
- Highly articulate and customer focused
- Team player – able to work with other disciplines to get best solution
- Strong ‘can do’ attitude with clear ownership of decisions
- In-depth knowledge of service tools
- Able to interpret electrical circuit diagrams
- Electrical fault-finding ability
- Experience with best-in-class service and maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of the Industrial Mining Industry (desirable)
- Experience with gear box, motor dismantle and assemble (desirable)
- Experience working at heights safely (desirable)
