Electrical/Electronics Technician/Technical Officer
- Full-time permanent role based in Mackay | Day shift Monday – Friday
- 5 weeks annual leave, 15 days sick/carers leave
- Coal Industry Long Service Leave

About the role:
We are seeking an Technical Officer to join our Regulation and Compliance team based in Mackay, on a Monday to Friday roster with reasonable overtime available. Reporting through to the Service Coordinator, you will work closely with the team to carry out service work in line with quality-controlled processes and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct calibration and repair of gas detection and electrical equipment devices in Workshops and on Mine sites around the Bowen Basin as required
- Conduct diesel emissions analysis in line with relevant test methods and work instructions
- Ensure any quality or non-conformance issues are reported to the appropriate manager
- Conduct routine maintenance and housekeeping
- Assist in initiating leads or opportunities for sales of services or products
- Conducting audits and risk assessments
- Being an advocate for safety and demonstrate behaviours aligned to safety
About you:
- Electrical or electronics trade qualifications or equivalent
- Current Drivers Licence
- An ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff (verbal and written)
- A working ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
- Strong attention-to-detail
- Computer literacy demonstrated ability to use Microsoft office applications
- EEHA Certification (desirable but not essential)
- Experience operating calibration equipment and calibrate devices used in gas detection (desirable but not essential)

Mine Safety Technical Services (MSTS), a business unit of Coal Services, is NATA accredited with over 40 years' experience providing gas related technical services to the Australian mining industry. MSTS provide critical emergency and incident response to Mines Rescue Pty Ltd. MSTS also conduct gas detection and analysis, laboratory and workshop services, atmospheric monitoring, sale and service of breathing apparatus, training, and consultancy.
